It’s Florida’s back-to-school tax-free weekend!
Soon, students will flock back-to-school and it’s time to maximize your savings!
Now is the time to save money on clothes, school supplies, and unlike previous years, computers and applicable accessories are included. The tax-free weekend runs from Friday, August 2nd through Sunday, August 6th, 2019.
There are a multitude of sales this weekend as well, so conserve your hard-earned cash!
Here is a breakdown of the tax-free weekend:
- CLOTHING – Up to $60 each
Florida legislators were more generous than years past. Garments and accessories are tax-free up to $60 each.
- SHOES – Up to $60 per pair
Shoes are eligible for the tax exemption up to a maximum value of $60.
- SCHOOL SUPPLIES – Up to $15 each
Sales tax will not be charged on items such as pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, and glue. Particular items, such as staplers and computer paper are excluded.
COMPUTERS AND TECHNOLOGY – Personal computers and certain computer-related accessories selling for $1,000 or less per item, when purchased for noncommercial home or personal use.
